Terri has worked in accounting for over 22 years, and is experienced in full cycle, Canada-wide accounting practices. She began her career in 1999 with Martyn, Dooley & Partners Chartered Accountants, a mid-size accounting firm in Mississauga, ON. From there, Terri moved to Rumley and Associates Chartered Accountants in Barrie, ON, where she consulted with several different clients, including Helix. She came on board with Helix as Controller in July 2013.
Through positions with accounting firms, she worked with a variety of types and sizes of businesses including non-profits, private and public corporations and sole proprietorships and she became familiar with their diverse accounting needs and practices.
As Controller at Helix, Terri is responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping including depreciation, sales taxes, payroll and workers compensation. She has experience with incorporation and is responsible for monthly and annual financial statement preparation, as well as corporate tax returns. Terri monitors compliance with government regulations nation-wide and ensures that our various branches comply with local as well as federal regulations.
